Are you one of the millions who are glued to your TV every Tuesday and Wednesday from January to May every year? I am one of them so I am right there with you. I actually started watching the show during season two. Not being a huge TV watcher, I didn't even know about it during the first season. But I happened to glance at the TV during the second season during the auditions and I was hooked. I became a huge fan of Clay Aiken, and I've been following American Idol every season since that time.

Do you ever wonder how long it will last? I personally hope it goes on and on, sort of like Monday Night Football. You know that will always be there, and I hope to see American Idol on my TV on a continuous basis. I'm sure not everyone agrees. I'm not even sure why it's so addictive! I guess it's the hope that this is the year you'll see that someone special. I have never really liked any contestants as much as Clay. There is just something about his voice, the tone of it. It's just beautiful. I did really like Constantine and also Taylor, and this year so far I am really liking Adam Lambert. I tend to go for those that are a bit polarizing.

AI is a phenomenon, that's for sure. I think the only way it might slow down is if one of the judges, especially Simon, decides to leave the show. But for now, the ratings continue to be great year after year. I often wonder though how much of Idol music can be absorbed in the industry. Will it eventually just over-saturate? That remains to be seen. In the interim, here's to the continuation of our obsession with the American Idol show, and cheers to all involved who have given us this guilty pleasure.
